Bernie Brewer was the nickname given to Milt Mason, who vowed to live in a trailer on top of the County Stadium scoreboard until the Brewers drew a sellout crowd. That ended after 40 days when a game on Aug. 16, 1970, drew 44,387 fans and soon thereafter Bernie was recreated as a mascot for the team in 1973
