Horwitz joined the Mets in 1980 and was named their Director of Public Relations in 1988, a position he has still held as of this bobblehead giveaway for "Social Media Night." A portion of each ticket sale went to Hope Shines for Shannon, benefitting Mets Senior Director of Media Relations Shannon Forde, who was battling Stage 4 breast cancer
